Pharmacological action of

Phospho-soda is a salt laxative, the effect of which is based on the increase in water retention in the lumen of the small intestine by osmotic processes. The accumulation of fluid in the ileum leads to increased peristalsis and subsequent colon cleansing.

Indications

x-ray examination for endoscopy preparation for surgery on the colon.

Contraindications

Use during pregnancy and lactation

Do not use Fleet Phospho-soda during pregnancy, since there is insufficient reliable information about the drug’s ability to toxicly affect the fetus and / or cause its formation.

Since sodium phosphate is excreted in breast milk, breast-feeding should be discarded immediately after taking the first dose of the drug and for the next 24 hours after taking the last dose.

Composition

1 bottle (45 ml) contains:

Active substances: sodium hydrogen phosphate dodecahydrate 240 mg (10.8 g) sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate 5442 mg (24, 4 g) composition component without

amount Excipients: glycerol 99% sodium saccharin sodium benzoate (E211) ginger and lemon flavor (ginger oil, alcohol, lemon oil, partially stabilized lemon oil, citric acid, water) purified water.

Dosage and administration of

Fleet Phospho-soda is prescribed for adults and adolescents over 15 years of age. For elderly patients, similar doses to adults are used.

Start taking the drug on the day preceding the prescribed procedure.

If the procedure is scheduled for before noon, you must follow the instructions for the morning appointment. If the procedure is scheduled for the afternoon, then you must follow the instructions for the daily appointment.

Day before the procedure.

7:00 Instead of breakfast, drink at least one glass (or more) of "light liquid" or water.

“Light liquid” is water, soups freed from particulate matter, fruit juices without pulp, tea, coffee, transparent carbonated and non-carbonated soft drinks.

The first dose of the drug is taken immediately after breakfast. To do this, the contents of one bottle (45 ml) is dissolved in half a glass (120 ml) of cold water. Then you should drink the solution and drink one (or more) glasses (240 ml) of cold water.

13: 00 Instead of lunch, you should drink at least three glasses (720 ml) of “light liquid” or water, if desired, the volume can be increased.

19:00 Instead of dinner, drink one glass of "light liquid" or water, if desired, the volume can be increased.

The second dose of the drug is taken immediately after dinner. Dissolve the contents of the second vial (45 ml) in half a glass (120 ml) of cold water. Then you should drink the solution and drink one glass (240 ml) of cold water. If desired, you can drink more liquid.

If necessary, you can drink “light fluids” and water until midnight.

Daytime appointment.

Side effects of the digestive system: nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, bloating, diarrhea is very rare - with endoscopy on the mucous membrane of the sigmoid and rectum - single or multiple aft-like formations can be observed (clinically insignificant, spontaneously disappear without treatment) .

From the side of the central nervous system: asthenia, weakness, headache, dizziness.

From the side of metabolism: in individual patients from risk groups - dehydration and / or an imbalance of electrolytes (including hyperphosphatemia, hypocalcemia, hypokalemia, hypernatremia, acidosis).

Other: allergic reactions.
