Pharmacological Action

Ammonium Anise Drops - Expectorant.

Pharmacodynamics

The drug reflexively affects the bronchi and bronchial glands, stimulating the motor function of the ciliated epithelium and bronchioles, which promotes the promotion and removal of sputum from the lower and upper respiratory tract. This effect is combined with increased secretion of bronchial glands and a slight decrease in sputum viscosity.

Indications

In complex therapy as an expectorant in inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract.

Contraindications

hypersensitivity to the components of the drug

gastritis

gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer.

Precautions: liver disease, alcoholism, traumatic brain injury, brain disease, pregnancy, lactation, childhood.

Special instructions

The drug is used only in diluted form!

The drug contains 90% ethyl alcohol. The absolute alcohol content in the maximum single dose of the drug is 0.18 g, in the maximum daily dose of the drug - 0.54 g.

Effect on the ability to drive vehicles and engage in other potentially dangerous activities. During the treatment period, care must be taken when driving vehicles and engaging in other potentially dangerous activities that require an increased concentration of attention and speed of psychomotor reactions.

Composition

100 ml drops contain:

Active ingredients: anise oil 2.81 g ammonia solution 10% 15 ml (equivalent to 1.5 g ammonia)

Excipients: ethyl alcohol 90% (ethanol) - up to 100 ml.

Dosage and administration

Inside, 2–3 times a day in diluted form (in 1 / 4–1 / 2 glasses of water): for adults - 10–15 drops per dose, for children - 1 drop per year of life. When taking the drug, it is recommended to prescribe a plentiful warm drink.

Side effects

Allergic reactions, nausea, vomiting are possible. Taking undiluted medication can cause burns to the mucous membranes.

Drug interaction

The drug should not be used simultaneously with antitussive drugs, as this makes it difficult to cough up liquefied sputum.
