Packaging

Includes 1 ampoule of anti-gangrenous serum and 1 ampoule of diluted 1: 100 serum for determining sensitivity to horse protein.

Pharmacological action of

Antigangrenous serum has a detoxifying effect. Neutralizes toxins of anaerobic microbes.

Indications

Gas gangrene (treatment and prevention), gangrenous diseases: postpartum anaerobic sepsis, lung gangrene, etc.

Contraindications

There are no contraindications for the use of antigangrenous serum.

Use during pregnancy and lactation

The use of the drug is allowed for health reasons, taking into account possible benefits to the mother and risk to the fetus or child.

Composition

1 dose contains gangrenous antitoxin 30,000 IU.

Dosage and administration

Intramuscularly, prophylactic dose 30,000 IU iv (drip), therapeutic dose 150,000 IU.

Side effects of

Serum administration may lead to the development of anaphylactic shock and other immediate allergic reactions, as well as the symptom complex of serum sickness (fever, skin rashes, arthralgia) that appears in the early (2-6) days) and long-term (at 2 weeks) periods lasting from several hours to several weeks.
