PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Ceftonitis is an antibacterial drug of the cephalosporin group. Ceftiofur hydrochloride, which is part of the drug Ceftonit, is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic with a broad spectrum of action that has a bactericidal effect on gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria, including strains that produce ОІ-lactamase and some anaerobic bacteria: Escherichia coli, Pasteurella (Mannheima) (Mannheima) Pasteurella multocida, Haemophilus somnus, Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, Haemophilus parasuis, Salmonella cholerasuis, Streptococcus Suis, Streptococcus zooepidemicus, Streptococcus equi, Pasteurella spp, Staphilococillus pyuropneumoniae, Staphilococillus agespp. Citrobacter, Enterobacter, Bacillus spp., Proteus spp., Fusobacterium necrophorum and Porphiromonas assacharolytica (Bacteroides melaninogenicus). After administration, ceftiofur is rapidly metabolized to form desfuroylceftiofur, which has biological activity against microorganisms. After parenteral administration, ceftiofur is rapidly metabolized into desfuroylceftiofur and creates therapeutic concentrations in the body for up to 20 hours, depending on the animal species. The maximum concentrations of the antibiotic in the body of animals are detected within 1 hour after the administration of the drug. Desfuroylceftiofur is excreted from the body mainly through the kidneys. which has biological activity against microorganisms.
