Pharmacological action
Cloveit is a synthetic corticosteroids for external use. It has a pronounced anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic effect. It is assumed that the drug reduces the inflammatory process by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins and leukotrienes, which leads to blocking the activity of phospholipase A2 and reducing the release of arachidonic acid from phospholipids of cell membranes. Antiallergic effect is due to the suppression of local allergic reactions. As a result of local vasoconstrictor action, exudative reactions are reduced, protein synthesis, and collagen deposition are reduced. It accelerates the breakdown of proteins in the skin and inhibits proliferative processes.
Indications
seborrheic dermatitis
contact eczema
atopic dermatitis
long-term psoriasis
erythematous lichen
erythema multiforme
discoid lupus erythematosus srdlk sharp red sard itching, or with excessive keratosis, when treatment with weaker corticosteroids is ineffective
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to clobetasol propionate, to other corticosteroids, to other components of the drug bacterial, viral and fungal infections of the skin pink and ordinary acne, perioral dermatitis after vaccination, children under 12 years of age, pregnancy and lactation.
Special instructions
Avoid prolonged use. With prolonged use on large areas of the skin, the incidence of side effects and the risk of edema, hypertension, hyperglycemia, and a decrease in the body's resistance increase.
With external use of clobetasol propionate, inhibition of the pituitary-adrenal system is possible. This is expressed in a decrease in pituitary gland production of ACTH, a decrease in the level of cortisol in the blood, and the development of iatrogenic Cushing's syndrome. The listed changes pass after the termination of treatment. The function of the adrenal cortex should be regularly monitored by determining the levels of cortisol in the blood and urine after stimulation of the adrenal glands through ACTH.
In case of infection in the area of application of the drug, appropriate antibacterial or antifungal treatment should be prescribed. If the symptoms of the infection do not go away, you must stop using Cloveit until the infection is completely cured.
Avoid applying the drug to the skin in the eyelids in patients with closed or open-angle glaucoma, with cataracts due to the risk of exacerbation of the disease. On the skin of the face, in the axillary and inguinal areas, the drug should be used only in cases of special need, given the increased absorption and increased risk of side effects (telangiectasia, perioral dermatitis).
Use with caution in atrophic conditions of subcutaneous fat, especially in the elderly.
Cloveit may enhance the effects of immunosuppressants and weaken the effects of immunostimulating drugs.
