Indications

As an expectorant in the treatment of acute and chronic inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract, accompanied by cough with difficult to separate sputum.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the drug, pregnancy, lactation, sucrose / isomaltase deficiency, fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome, children under 2 years of age.

Use during pregnancy and lactation

Due to the insufficient safety data on the use of dry ivy leaf extract in pregnant women and during lactation, therefore, the

preparation GerbionВ® ivy syrup is not recommended for this group of patients.

Composition

Syrup.

1 ml of syrup contains:

Active ingredient:

Ivy leaf extract dry (5-7.5: 1) * 7.00 mg

Excipients: liquid sorbitol (E420), glycerol (E422), sodium benzoate (E211), citric acid monohydrate (E330), aromatic balm **, purified water.

* Ivy leaf extract dry (5-7.5: 1) prepared from:

Ivy leaf (Hedera helix L., family Araliaceae (Araliaceae), folium) and ethanol 30% (extractant).

** Aromatic balm contains propylene glycol (E1520), ethanol (E1510), citronella oil, citrus from Litsea cubeba, lemon oil, coriander oil.

Dosage and administration

Inside, after meals.

For children from 2 to 5 years: 2.5 ml of syrup (1/2 dosing spoon) 2 times a day. Children from 6 to 12 years old: 5 ml of syrup (1 dosing spoon) 2 times a day. Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age: 5-7.5 ml of syrup (1-1.5 dosing spoon) 2 times a day.

Dosing of the drug is carried out using a dosing plastic spoon.

During the treatment with Herbion® ivy syrup, it is recommended to consume a sufficient amount of warm liquid (water, tea, etc.).

Duration of treatment - 7 days. A second course is possible on the recommendation of a doctor.

Side effects

Allergic reactions possible. Very rarely, a laxative effect can be observed, because the drug contains sorbitol.

In a comparative study of the efficacy and safety of Herbion® ivy syrup (63 patients took Herbion® ivy syrup), 1 case was recorded: skin rash, itching, and nausea.

Drug Interaction

There have been no reports of drug interactions with Herbion® Ivy Syrup with other medicines. The drug should not be used concomitantly with antitussive medicines that reduce sputum formation, since this impedes the discharge of liquefied phlegm.

Overdose

If you take large doses (three times the recommended daily dose), nausea may develop, vomiting and diarrhea.

Treatment: withdrawal of the drug, symptomatic therapy.

Storage conditions

At a temperature not above 30? C. Do not store in the refrigerator.

Keep out of the reach of children.

Expiration

2 years.

The syrup should be used within 3 months of opening the vial.

Do not use after the expiry date.
