Pharmacological action
Pimafucort is a combined drug that has antibacterial, antifungal, local anti-inflammatory effects.
Neomycin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic from the aminoglycoside group, and is active against a number of gram-positive (Staphylococcus spp., Enterococcus spp.) and gram-negative (Klebsiella spp., Proteus spp., Escherichia coli, etc.) bacteria.
Natamycin belongs to antifungal preparations of the polyene series, has a fungicidal effect against yeast and yeast-like fungi, especially Candida spp. Dermatomycetes are less sensitive to natamycin.
Hydrocortisone has anti-inflammatory and vasoconstrictive effects.
Eliminates inflammation and itching that accompany various types of dermatoses.
Indications
Dermatoses, amenable to glucocorticosteroid therapy, complicated by secondary bacterial and / or fungal infection (especially caused by fungi of the genus Candida).
Contraindications
- hypersensitivity to the components of the drug Pimafucort
- tuberculosis of the skin, skin manifestations of syphilis, viral infections of the skin, skin post-vaccination reactions, open wounds,
ulcers - acne, rosacea, erythritis -
Caution.
Caution is used in case of tuberculosis (systemic lesion)
- in children under the age of 1 year
- in patients who have a history of indications of a defeat of the IX pair of FMN with aminoglycosides.
With perforation of the eardrum and direct exposure of neomycin to the middle ear, there is a risk of ototoxicity.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
When prescribing Pimafucort during pregnancy, the theoretical risk of the ototoxic effect of neomycin should be taken into account, and therefore the drug should not be used for a long time and applied under occlusive dressings.
Special instructions
When applying Pimafucort to the eyelids and periorbital region, there is a risk of increased intraocular pressure, the development of cataracts.
When using the drug on large surfaces in children or under dressings, it is necessary to bear in mind the possibility of suppressing the function of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal system.
In the case of prolonged treatment, in the presence of wounds and ulcers, there is a theoretical risk of the ototoxic and nephrotoxic effects of neomycin.
In case of superinfection or excessive growth of fungi, stop using the drug and take appropriate measures.
1 g
composition contains 5 mg ibuprofen g: - Natamycin 10 mg
- neomycin (as neomycin sulfate) 3500 units
- micronized hydrocortisone 10 mg
Excipients: Sodium citrate 14.0 mg, emulsifier F 115.0 mg, sorbitan stearate 30.0 mg, cetyl ether wax 60, 0 mg, cetiol V 150.0, macrogol stearate 100 20.0 mg, methyl parahydroxybenzoate 2.0 mg, propyl parahydroxybenzoate 0.50 mg, purified water to 1000.0 mg.
Dosage and administration
For adults and children, Pimafucort is applied to the affected skin 2-4 times a day. The duration of treatment is determined individually taking into account the nature of the disease, the course of treatment usually does not exceed 14 days.
In children, the drug should be applied to limited areas of the skin, do not use occlusive dressings. In the absence of improvement in children and adults after 14 days, you should consult a doctor.
In the form of a cream, the drug is recommended for the treatment of acute and subacute dermatoses, including accompanied by weeping. The ointment is intended for the treatment of subacute and chronic dermatoses, especially in the presence of severe dry skin, lichenification, seborrhea or in cases where the occlusal properties of the ointment are necessary.
Side effects
Side effects with external use of Pimafucort, as with other glucocorticosteroids, are rare and are reversible. A hypersensitivity reaction (itching, burning, redness, or dry skin) may rarely develop.
Very rarely - atrophy and thinning of the skin, telangiectasia, striae, purpura, rosacea-like and perioral dermatitis, delayed wound healing, depigmentation, hypertrichosis, withdrawal syndrome after discontinuation of treatment.
When using external glucocorticosteroids for a long time, on large areas of the skin, or when using occlusive dressings, especially children can develop side effects that are characteristic of systemic glucocorticosteroids, such as suppression of adrenal cortex function.
Contact dermatitis on neomycin.
Drug Interactions
Drug interactions not described.
Cross-hypersensitivity between neomycin and drugs of similar chemical structure, such as kanamycin, paromomycin, gentamicin and cross-resistance between neomycin and other antibiotics of the aminoglycoside group, may be noted.
Overdose of
There is no evidence of an overdose of Pimafucort. There is a theoretical possibility of the ototoxic effect of neomycin in the case of applying the drug to the area of the external auditory canal in the presence of perforation of the tympanic membrane and the direct effect of neomycin on the middle ear.
