Pharmacological action

Posterisan forte - regenerating, antipruritic, anti-allergic, immunostimulating, anti-inflammatory.

Forms specific and stimulates non-specific immunity.

Pharmacodynamics

Combined drug, which contains two active components - a suspension of bacterial culture containing inactivated bacteria and their metabolic products, and hydrocortisone.

Stimulates the T-system of immunity, increases the phagocytic activity of leukocytes and cells of the reticuloendothelial system, increases the role of a number of humoral factors of nonspecific immunity (induces the formation of cytokines), enhances the formation of antibodies at the site of exposure.

Concentrated cell wall lipopolysaccharides and metabolites of Escherichia coli of various strains, including resistant to antibiotics and other antibacterial agents, lead to an increase in local tissue resistance to pathogenic microflora.

Hydrocortisone (contained in a small dose) supplements the effect of a suspension of bacterial culture due to anti-inflammatory, antiallergic and antipruritic effect, which is manifested in a decrease in exudation, normalization of permeability and tone of blood vessels, reduction of edema, hyperemia, itching, stimulation of regeneration of damaged tissues.

Indications

Hemorrhoids (mainly suppositories), perianal dermatitis (ointment), anal and genital itching, especially resistant to other drugs, anopapillitis, anal fissure (ointment), condition after surgery on the anorectal region (to stimulate wound healing).

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to phenol.

Pregnancy and lactation

Posterisan forte is acceptable.

Composition

Active ingredients:

microbial cells of Escherichia coli killed by phenol 1,000 million hydrocortisone (in 387.1 mg of aqueous suspension) 5 mg

Dosage and administration

Rectally.

Rectal suppositories in the acute period of the disease apply 2-3 pcs. per day. After eliminating the subjective symptoms of the disease, the affected area is continued to be lubricated once a day or 1 suppository is administered once a day for several days.

If the drug is used to treat chronic dermatitis, then after the disappearance of skin manifestations, it is recommended to extend the therapy for another 1-2 weeks.

Perhaps the combined use of ointments and suppositories. After completing the course of treatment, in order to consolidate the therapeutic effect, it is advisable to use a drug (ointment or suppository) that does not contain hydrocortisone for another 2-3 weeks.

Side effects

Rarely allergic reactions (associated with the use of phenol as a preservative).

Drug Interaction

When combined with Posterizan and other glucocorticoid-containing drugs, effects may be enhanced or adverse reactions may occur. This instruction also applies to medicines administered shortly before the use of Posterizan.

Overdose

No cases of overdose with Posterizan and Posterizan Forte have been reported at this time.
