For external use:

• articular syndrome (including rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, gout),

• back pain

• neuralgia,

• myalgia,

• traumatic inflammation of soft tissues and joints.

Topically applied 2 times / day.

Ointment for external use 10% homogeneous, from light yellow to dark yellow, with a weak specific odor.

• Hypersensitivity to indomethacin,

• erosive and ulcerative lesions of the gastrointestinal tract in the acute phase,

• 'aspirin triad',

• disorders of hematopoiesis,

• severe liver and / or kidney dysfunction,

• severe forms of chronic heart failure,

• arterial hypertension,

• pancreatitis,

• III trimester of pregnancy,

• children up to age 14;

pharmachologic effect

Indomethacin has anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic, as well as some antiplatelet effect. Suppresses the activity of anti-inflammatory factors, reduces platelet aggregation. By inhibiting cyclooxygenase 1 and 2, it disrupts the metabolism of arachidonic acid, reduces the amount of prostaglandins (Pg) both in the focus of inflammation and in healthy tissues, and suppresses the exudative and proliferative phases of inflammation.

When applied externally, it causes a weakening or disappearance of pain syndrome of a rheumatic and non-rheumatic nature (including with pain in the joints at rest and during movement, reduces morning stiffness and swelling of the joints, helps to increase the range of motion; in inflammatory processes that occur after operations and injuries , quickly relieves both spontaneous pain and pain on movement, reduces inflammatory edema at the site of the wound).

Side effects

For external use: itching, redness, rash at the site of application.
