PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Ketoject belongs to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.

Ketoprofen, which is part of the drug, is a derivative of propionic acid, has a pronounced anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic effect, inhibits platelet aggregation. The mechanism of action of ketoprofen is to suppress the synthesis of prostaglandins by affecting the metabolism of arachidonic acid.

Ketoprofen stabilizes lysosomal membranes and inhibits neutrophil activity in animals with arthritis.

With intramuscular injection of Ketoject, the maximum concentration of ketoprofen in plasma is observed after 30-40 minutes. Ketoprofen is metabolized in the liver by glucuronidation, excreted mainly by the kidneys (80%) within 12 hours, mainly in the form of a glucuronic derivative. In renal failure, the elimination of ketoprofen is slowed down.

According to the degree of impact on the body, ketoject belongs to low-hazard substances (hazard class 4 in accordance with GOST 12.1.007-76), in recommended doses it is well tolerated by animals and does not have a local irritating, sensitizing, embryotoxic and teratogenic effect.
