Description

Pharmacodynamics:

RamniЃ contains antacid substances - calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate, which provide fast and long-lasting neutralization of excess gastric acid hydrochloric acid, thereby providing a protective effect on the gastric mucosa. Achievement of a positive effect within 3-5 minutes is due to the good solubility of the tablets and the high calcium content.

Pharmacokinetics:

As a result of the interaction of RamniЃ with gastric juice, soluble calcium and magnesium salts are formed in the stomach. The level of absorption of calcium and magnesium from these compounds depends on the dose of the drug. The maximum absorption rate is 10% calcium and 15-20% magnesium. Small amounts of absorbed calcium and magnesium are excreted through the kidneys. With impaired renal function, the concentration of calcium and magnesium in plasma may increase. In the intestine, insoluble compounds are formed from soluble salts, which are excreted in the feces.

Side effects:

If the recommended doses are observed, the drug is well tolerated; nevertheless, in very rare cases, allergic reactions are possible: rash, Quincke's edema, anaphylactic reactions.

Overdose:

Long-term use of the drug in high doses in patients with impaired renal function can cause hypermagnesemia, hypercalcemia, alkalosis, which can manifest as nausea, vomiting, muscle weakness. In this case, the drug should be discontinued and a doctor should be consulted immediately.

Interaction:

A change in the acidity of gastric juice during the use of antacids can lead to a decrease in the rate and degree of absorption of other drugs while taking them; therefore, drugs should be taken 1-2 hours before or after taking antacids.

Antibiotics of the tetracycline series fluoroquinolones cardiac glycosides levothyroxine iron preparations phosphate fluorides - with the simultaneous use of antacids, they reduce the absorption of these drugs.

Thiazide diuretics - when taken simultaneously with antacids, the concentration of calcium in the blood serum should be regularly monitored.

Special instructions:

When prescribing the drug to patients with impaired renal function, the concentration of magnesium, phosphorus and calcium in the blood serum should be regularly monitored.

Patients with impaired renal function are not recommended to take the drug in high doses for a long time.

The use of RamniЃ in high doses may increase the risk of kidney stones.

Direction for patients with diabetes mellitus: 1 tablet of RamniЃ contains 2953 mg sucrose (003 XE).
