DESCRIPTION
Tetramisole 10% (Tetramisol 10%) is an anthelmintic drug for cattle, sheep and poultry. In appearance, the drug is a powder from white to light yellow.
COMPOSITION
In 1 g, tetramisole hydrochloride is 100 mg as an active ingredient, and lactose as an excipient.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Tetramisole powder is an anthelmintic drug.
Tetramisole hydrochloride is an anthelmintic of a wide spectrum of nematodicidal action, is active against nematodes of the gastrointestinal tract and lungs, including Haemonchus sp., Ostertagia sp., Trichostrongylus spp., Nematodirus sp., Bunostomum sp., Oesophagostomum sp. , Dic-tyocaulus sp., Parasitizing ruminants; Ascaris suum, Strongy-loides ransomi, Metastrongylus sp., Oesophagostomum sp., Parasitizing pigs; Ascaridia, CapIII spp. and other nematodes that parasitize birds.
The mechanism of action of tetramisole is to enhance the cholinomimetic activity of the ganglia of the central nervous system of the parasite, blocking the action of fumarate reductase and succinate reductase, which leads to paralysis and death of nematodes.
After oral administration of the drug, tetramisole is rapidly absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract and penetrates into most organs and tissues of animals. The therapeutic concentration of tetramisole is achieved after 1-3 hours and remains in the body for at least 24 hours. Tetramisole is excreted from the body of animals mainly with urine and, partially, with feces.
Tetramisole powder, according to the degree of impact on the body, belongs to moderately hazardous substances (hazard class 3 according to GOST 12.1.007-76). In a therapeutic dose, it does not have teratogenic, embryotoxic, mutagenic effects.
PURPOSE
Tetramisole powder is used for therapeutic and prophylactic purposes in cattle and sheep with dictyocaulosis, hemonhoz, bunostomosis, nematodyrosis, ostertagiasis, habertiosis, cooperiosis, strongyloidosis; pigs - with ascariasis, esophagostomosis, strongyloidosis, trichocephalosis, metastrongylosis; poultry - with ascariasis, capillariasis, heterokidosis, amidostomosis, syngamosis.
DOSAGE AND APPLICATION
Tetramisole powder is used without a preliminary starvation diet and laxatives, once, individually or in a group way with food or water in the morning feeding in the following doses:

For individual use, the drug in the form of an aqueous solution is administered to animals using a syringe dispenser or a device for oral administration of drugs.
With the group method of application, Tetramisole powder is weighed at a calculated dose per group of animals of 10-100 heads, thoroughly mixed with compound feed (at the rate of 50-100 g of feed per animal or 5-10 g per bird). The mixture is laid out in feeders, providing animals with free access to them.
Before mass deworming, the drug is preliminarily tested on a small group (7-8 animals) of animals. In the absence of complications within 2-3 days, all livestock are treated.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
When working with Tetramisole powder, you should follow the general rules of personal hygiene and safety measures provided for when working with medicinal products.
All work with the drug must be carried out using overalls and personal protective equipment (rubber gloves, goggles, respirator). When working with the drug, it is prohibited to drink, smoke and eat. After handling the preparation, wash your hands with soap and water.
People with hypersensitivity to tetramisole should avoid direct contact with the drug.
Empty containers from Tetramisole powder must not be used for domestic purposes, they must be disposed of with household waste.
In case of accidental contact of the drug on the skin or mucous membranes, rinse them with plenty of tap water. In the event of allergic reactions or accidental ingestion of the drug into the human body, you must immediately contact a medical institution (with you have instructions for use or a label).
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Contraindication to the use of the drug is the individual hypersensitivity of the animal to tetramisole. It is prohibited to use Tetramisole powder in patients with infectious diseases, exhausted and weakened animals, as well as animals with impaired renal or liver function. It is forbidden to use the drug for pregnant females in the last third of pregnancy.
SIDE EFFECTS
Side effects and complications when using Tetramisole powder in accordance with the instructions, as a rule, are not observed. With increased individual sensitivity of animals to tetramisole and the occurrence of allergic reactions, they are prescribed antihistamines.
SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE
The shelf life of the powder in a closed manufacturer's packaging, subject to storage conditions, is 3 years from the date of production. Tetramisole powder is stored in the manufacturer's sealed packaging, separately from food and feed, in a place protected from direct sunlight, at a temperature not exceeding 30 В° C and a relative humidity not exceeding 60%.
