Packaging

In a transparent ampoule for single use from polyethylene 0.5 ml of a 0.05% solution.

5 ampoules are soldered in a strip. In a cardboard bundle 2 strips.

Pharmacological action

Vizin is a sympathomimetic drug that stimulates the alpha-adrenergic receptors of the sympathetic nervous system, but does not or has a weak effect on beta-adrenergic receptors. Being a sympathomimetic amine, it has a vasoconstrictor effect and reduces tissue edema.

The effect begins a few minutes after instillation and lasts 4-8 hours.

Pharmacokinetics

When applied topically, systemic absorption in patients with mucosal and epithelial injuries is possible.

No detailed pharmacokinetic studies have been performed with eye drops.

Indications

For relieving edema and hyperemia of the conjunctiva (redness of the eyes):

Conditioned by chemical and physical factors (smoke, wind, dust, chlorinated water, light, cosmetics, contact lenses).

Arising from allergic reactions such as hay fever.

Contraindications

Endothelial-epithelial corneal dystrophy.

Angle-closure glaucoma.

Children under 2 years old.

Hypersensitivity to the drug.

Caution if:

Severe Cardiovascular Disease: Coronary Heart Disease

Arterial Hypertension.

Pheochromocytoma.

Prostatic hyperplasia.

Hyperthyroidism.

Diabetes.

porphyria.

Dry rhinitis.

Dry keratoconjunctivitis.

Glaucoma and in patients receiving monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOs) or other drugs that can increase blood pressure.

For other types of glaucoma, except for angle-closure (the use of the drug with angle-closure glaucoma is contraindicated), the drug is used with extreme caution and under the supervision of a physician.

Use during pregnancy and lactation

Data on the penetration of the drug through the placenta and into breast milk are not available.

Given the potential for systemic side effects, use the drug during pregnancy and during breastfeeding is possible only if, in the opinion of the doctor, the expected benefits for the mother outweigh the potential risk to the fetus and the baby.

Special instructions

The drug is prescribed for adults and children over 2 years of age.

For children under 6 years of age, the drug is prescribed under the supervision of a physician.

Avoid prolonged use and overdose of the drug, especially in children.

Before instilling the drug, contact lenses must be removed and installed approximately 15 minutes after instillation. It is necessary to avoid direct contact of the drug with soft contact lenses due to a possible violation of their transparency.

It is advisable to use the drug only with mild eye irritation. The patient should be warned that if the condition does not improve within 48 hours or if irritation and hyperemia persist or increase, the drug should be discontinued and a doctor should be consulted.

Perhaps the development of reactive hyperemia of the conjunctiva and nasal mucosa (drug rhinitis) due to improper use of the drug.

The patient should be informed that if there is intense pain in the eyes, headache, loss of vision, the sudden appearance of floating spots in front of the eyes, redness of the eyes, pain when exposed to light, or when double vision occurs, consult a doctor immediately.

The drug should not be used if irritation or hyperemia is associated with serious diseases of the organ of vision, such as infection, foreign body or chemical injury to the cornea.

Influence on the ability to drive vehicles and control mechanisms

In rare cases, after applying eye drops, pupil dilates and blurred vision occurs, which can affect the ability to drive a car or mechanisms.

Composition

B 1 ml ophthalmic drops contains:

Active ingredient:

tetrisoline hydrochloride 0.50 mg.

Excipients:

boric acid 12.30 mg,

sodium tetraborate (borax) 0.25 mg,

sodium chloride 2.23 mg,

water for injection up to 1 ml.

Dosage and Administration

Conjunctival.

Adults and children 2 years of age and 1 drop in the affected eye 2-3 times a day.

The use of the drug for more than 4 days should be carried out only under the supervision of a physician.

Instructions for use for single-use vials

Each ampoule of Vizin Classic is intended for single use only.

The drug should be used immediately after opening the ampoule.

The amount of drug in one ampoule is sufficient for a single injection in both eyes.

Break off one ampoule from the strip, and put the remaining ampoules back into the foil bag.

Open the vial by unscrewing the top, unfilled portion of the vial.

Place the drug in the conjunctival sac, slightly pressing on the filled part of the ampoule.

Side effects

When using the drug Vizin® Classic in rare cases it may cause a burning sensation, redness of the eyes, eye pain, tingling in the eye, blurred vision, conjunctival irritation and dilated pupil.

If the above symptoms appear, consult a doctor.

Overdose

When using the drug in accordance with the recommendations, the risk of developing an overdose is minimal.

Symptoms when a drug enters the gastrointestinal tract: dilated pupil, nausea, cyanosis, fever, convulsions, tachycardia, arrhythmia, cardiac arrest, hypertension, pulmonary edema, respiratory dysfunction, central nervous system function, coma.

Treatment: if necessary, activated charcoal, gastric lavage, oxygen inhalation, antipyretic and anticonvulsants are prescribed. To reduce blood pressure, iv administration of 5 mg of phentolamine in physiological saline or oral administration of phentolamine in a dose of 100 mg is possible.

Patients with low blood pressure are contraindicated in vasopressor drugs.

Specific antidote unknown.

In case of symptoms due to blockade of m-cholinergic receptors, the physostigmine antidote is used.
