Pharmacological action
Eskuzan is a phytomedicine used for impaired venous circulation.
It has antiexudative and venotonic effects. It was found that horse chestnut seed extract reduces the concentration of lysosomal enzymes, as a result, the decomposition of mucopolysaccharides in the region of the capillary walls is reduced. Aescusan reduces vascular permeability, preventing the filtration of low molecular weight proteins, electrolytes and water into the intercellular space.
Indications
Chronic venous insufficiency class I – III according to CEAR classification: varicose veins, edema, cramps in the calf muscles, a feeling of heaviness in the legs.
Contraindications
hypersensitivity to the components of the drug Eskusan

lactose intolerance, lactase deficiency, glucose-galactose malabsorption
children's age (up to 12 years).
Caution: alcoholism traumatic brain injury brain disease childhood (over 12 years old).
Use during pregnancy and lactation
Due to the lack of sufficient research, the drug is not recommended for use during pregnancy and during breast-feeding.
Special instructions
Aescusan contains 31% ethanol. Subject to the recommended dosages, at each dose of the drug, up to 0.128 g of ethanol enters the body, and the maximum daily dose contains up to 0.384 g of ethanol.
During long-term storage of preparations (liquid dosage forms) based on medicinal plant materials, a cloudy solution and precipitation are possible, which does not affect the quality of the drug.
