Pharmacological action
Oktolipen - a metabolic agent, is an endogenous antioxidant that binds free radicals.
Thioctic acid is formed in the body by oxidative decarboxylation of alpha-keto acids. As a coenzyme of mitochondrial multienzyme complexes, it participates in the oxidative decarboxylation of pyruvic acid and alpha-keto acids.
Oktolipen helps to lower blood glucose and increase glycogen in the liver, as well as overcome insulin resistance. By the nature of the biochemical action, thioctic acid is close to B vitamins. Participates in the regulation of lipid and carbohydrate metabolism, stimulates cholesterol metabolism, improves liver function.
Oktolipen has a hepatoprotective, hypolipidemic, hypocholesterolemic, hypoglycemic effect. Improves trophic neurons and axonal conduction, reduces the manifestations of diabetic and alcoholic polyneuropathy.
Indications
Diabetic polyneuropathy alcoholic polyneuropathy.
Contraindications
pregnancy
period of breastfeeding
children and adolescents under 18 years of age (efficacy and safety of use have not been established)
hypersensitivity to the components of Oktolipen.
Special instructions
In patients with diabetes mellitus, especially at the beginning of treatment with Oktolipen, frequent monitoring of blood glucose concentration is necessary. In some cases, a dose reduction of hypoglycemic agents is required.
During treatment, you must strictly refrain from drinking alcohol, as ethanol reduces the therapeutic efficacy of thioctic acid.
Composition
active substance: thioctic acid ( -lipoic acid) - 600 mg
excipients: low-substituted hyprolose (hydroxypropyl cellulose, low-substituted L-HPC LH-B1) - 120.90 mg of hyprolysis (hydroxypropyl cellulose E) - Klu 32.04 mg silicon colloidal dioxide (aerosil) - 24.03 mg magnesium stearate - 24.03 mg
shell: Opadry yellow (OPADRY 03F220017 Yellow) - 28.00 mg [hypromellose (hydroxypropyl methylcellulose), macrogol-6000 (6000 polyethylene glycol) titanium dioxide, talc, quinoline yellow aluminum varnish (E104), iron dye ox eid yellow (E172)]
Dosage and administration of
Oktolipen is administered orally at 600 mg once a day. Take in the morning, on an empty stomach, 30 minutes before the first meal, without chewing, drinking plenty of water. The duration of the course of oral drug therapy is determined by the doctor.
Side effects of
From the digestive system: symptoms of dyspepsia (including nausea, vomiting, heartburn).
Metabolism: symptoms of hypoglycemia (due to improved glucose uptake).
Allergic reactions: urticaria, systemic allergic reactions (including anaphylactic shock).
Drug Interactions
Thioctic acid (as a solution for infusion) reduces the effect of cisplatin.
With simultaneous use with insulin and / or oral hypoglycemic agents, an increase in the hypoglycemic effect is observed.
Thioctic acid forms difficult soluble complexes with sugar molecules. The prepared solution is incompatible with a solution of glucose, levulose, Ringer's solution, as well as with compounds (including their solutions) that react with disulfide and SH-groups.
Overdose
Symptoms: headache, nausea, vomiting.
Treatment: symptomatic. There is no specific antidote.
Storage Conditions
In a dark place at a temperature not exceeding 20 РC.
