Pharmacological properties.

The combined drug, a-Dihydroergocriptine, a dehydrated ergot derivative, blocks a1 and a2 adrenergic receptors. It has a dopaminergic, serotonergic effect, reduces the aggregation of platelets and erythrocytes, reduces the permeability of the vascular wall, increases the number of functioning capillaries, improves blood circulation and metabolic processes in the brain, increases the resistance of brain tissue to hypoxia.

Caffeine has a psychostimulating and analeptic effect, enhances the processes of excitation in the cerebral cortex, increases mental and physical performance, reduces fatigue and drowsiness, increases reflex excitability of the spinal cord, stimulates the respiratory and vasomotor centers, and has a diuretic effect.

Pharmacokinetics.

When taken orally, the absorption of dihydroergocriptine is accelerated in the presence of caffeine (time to reach a maximum concentration of 0.5 hours).

The maximum concentration after oral administration of 8 mg of ?-dihydroergocriptine is 227 pg / ml, and the half-life is less than 2 hours.

Overdose.

Interaction with other medicinal products.
With the simultaneous appointment of Vasobral and antihypertensive drugs, the development of arterial hypotension is possible. Caffeine weakens the effects of hypnotics.

Special instructions.
Vasobral has a vasodilating effect without affecting systemic blood pressure. The appointment of Vasobral to patients with arterial hypertension does not exclude the need for the use of antihypertensive drugs. The caffeine contained in the preparation can cause sleep disturbance, tachycardia.
